Day Mountain Wildlife Management Area
Walk to Day Mountain Wildlife Management Area. The area is open for hiking and wildlife viewing, but note that there are few maintained trails. Head out into the mostly hardwood forest to enjoy the morning quiet.

Stop by Angelina's Submarine Shops for lunch. This local chain is credited with popularizing the sub sandwich in the Berkshires. It is open from 09:00 to 21:00, so it will be ready for you after your hike.
11:00
End your morning at Wahconah Falls State Park. Take a walk along the hiking trails to see the falls. Remember that dogs are allowed, but swimming is not.
Local tip
The wildlife area has few maintained trails, so wear sturdy shoes and be prepared for uneven ground. The Appalachian Trail runs through the area, so if you cross it, keep firearms unloaded and no hunting is allowed on the trail itself.
