A short, timed walk from the westernmost point of mainland Africa to a sandy beach for the golden hour.

Best time: 15 JulAbout 90 min

Timeline

  1. 18:28

    Le N'Gor

Grab a drink and a small plate at Le N'Gor. The terraced patios offer a relaxed start before the walk. Note that portions are small, so this is a snack, not a full meal.

  2. 18:38

Plage de la Pointe des Almadies

Walk to Plage de la Pointe des Almadies. Enjoy the rocky shore and the view of the ocean from the westernmost point. Be aware that security guards near the construction sites may ask for a fee; playing dumb is the usual way to handle this.

  3. 19:13

    Plage des mamelles

Move to Plage des mamelles. This sandy beach is just below the lighthouse and offers phenomenal sunset views. Keep an eye on the waves, as they can be big.

  4. 19:58

    Esamaï

End the evening at Esamaï. This African restaurant is adjacent to the beach and open until 01:00, making it a perfect spot to stay and digest the view.

Local tip

The sun sets toward the WNW on this date, providing a direct view from Plage des mamelles.
