Timeline

  1. 09:00

    Daecheong Dam

Take the 72 or 73 bus to the Daecheong Dam area. This large dam creates the Daecheonghosu lake and sits on the far north east outskirts of town. Arriving early helps you beat the heat and the crowds.

  2. 09:15

    Daecheong Lake

Walk to the information office at 618-316, Daecheong-ro, Daedeok-gu, on the left bank of the dam. The lake was formed in 1980 and offers a peaceful setting for a morning walk. Since there are no food shops listed nearby, bring water and snacks with you.

  3. 10:00

    Daecheong Dam

Return to the dam structure itself. It is a massive concrete barrier that holds back the water. The views from the dam are expansive and the air is fresh. Stay here until the late afternoon to enjoy the changing light on the water.

Local tip

There are no food or drink shops in the immediate vicinity of the dam or lake. Please bring your own lunch and water. The area is best visited during the day when the weather is mild.
