Timeline

  1. 08:00

    Marble Mountains

Enter the Marble Mountains complex. Arriving at 08:00 or earlier means you may enter for free, as the ticket price of 40,000 dong typically applies after that time. Head straight for the Am Phu cave to make the steep climb up toward the light. The caves and grottoes hold several Buddhist temples, and this is the best time to explore them without the midday crowds.

  2. 09:15

    Marble Mountains

Top out at the summit for a view of the surrounding mountains. The climb rewards you with a perspective of Kim Son, Moc Son, Thuy Son, Hoa Son, and Tho Son. Take a few minutes to breathe in the fresh air and look at the intricate carvings inside the mountain before starting your descent.

  3. 09:45

    Marble Mountains

Descend and walk across the street to the larger beach side resorts mentioned in the location description. This is the perfect spot to find a nearby lunch or a refreshing drink. Since the mountains are 9 km S of downtown, these resorts are the closest convenient option for food and drink.

Local tip

The area is a popular pilgrimage site, so expect some visitors even in the morning. Going early is your best bet for a peaceful experience. If you take the elevator up, tickets are 15,000 dong, but walking is often preferred for the full experience.

Check before you go

  • Arrive at 08:00 to potentially avoid the 40,000 dong entrance fee.
  • Wear comfortable shoes for the steep climb in the Am Phu cave.
  • Bring water, as the climb can be strenuous in the daytime heat.
