Walk 10 minutes NNE to Corpus Christi Beach. Find a spot on the sand facing west. The beach is usually not terribly crowded, giving you room to settle in.

Walk back 10 minutes to Blackbeard's On the Beach. It stays open until 21:00 on weekdays, making it a easy stop for a nightcap or dinner after the show.
Local tip
The aquarium is closed on Mondays, so plan this for Tue-Sun. Parking is $5.
