Stand on the bluff at the Corpus Christi Cathedral. The structure was built in the 1940s but serves a congregation that dates back to the 1840s. Use the last thirty minutes of daylight to take in the view of the downtown area from this high vantage point before the sun dips below the horizon.

Watch the sun set toward the WSW. The sky will shift from blue to deep orange and purple as the light fades over the city.

Walk five minutes down to Water Street Oyster Bar. Order Gulf seafood fresh daily. The marina area is lively, and the atmosphere is energetic. This is a great spot to catch your first taste of the evening.

Head eight minutes away to Rockit's Whiskey Bar & Saloon. The lights are low and the music is loud. Great blues and rock bands play in this bluesy atmosphere. It is a good place to stay for a while and let the evening settle in.
