Start the hike from the visitors’ centre or main road. The trail to Balcón Norte is relatively flat and takes about two hours one way. Bring plenty of water and food, as services are limited. The bus from Córdoba’s bus station terminal 2 runs at least hourly; ask the driver to stop at Parque Nacional el Condorito.
20:27
Reach Balcón Norte. This is the viewing spot where you can see condors and other species flying around. The spectacular views are most of the way, but the summit offers the best vantage point as the sun sets toward the WSW.
20:57
Begin the descent. The walk back is the same distance and duration. Use this time to rest your legs and enjoy the cooling evening air.
23:27
Return to the bus terminal or Panaholma for dinner and a drink after dark. Panaholma has the most services, while Sierra bus, Coata and ERSA also provide transport. Check the return bus route as the last trip is at 20:00.
Local tip
The bus takes 1½-2 hours from Córdoba. The AR$450 entry fee is free for the hike itself, but check the latest transport prices. The return trip runs until 20:00, so plan your evening accordingly.
