Grab a quick drink at Jernbanecafeen to kick off the evening. This bar is open from 07:00, so it is ready for you well before the sun goes down.
20:00
Walk to Havnebadet. This is the main event. Arrive just before sunset to soak in the atmosphere. It is an enormously popular green area and city beach with enclosed salt water pools. On sunny days, it is excellent for hanging out with locals, and the sensation of swimming smack in the centre of the city is quite peculiar.
20:30
Head to Viva for dinner. This unique seafood restaurant is housed in an old ship docked in the harbor, stylishly propped up to serve as a dining room. It offers indoor and outdoor seating and is perfect for a romantic evening in the summer, though it is open year round. Note that the kitchen closes at 22:00, so arriving promptly after sunset ensures you get a table.
Local tip
Havnebadet is manned with lifeguards and has shower, grill, and toilet facilities. The beach area near Fisketorvet can be crowded on warm summer days, so arrive early to secure your spot.
