Start with an early afternoon tea or mojito at Lentas Maravillas. The garden overlooks the Rio de la Plata, offering a calm prelude to the evening. It is open until 20:00, so you have plenty of time to settle in before the light changes.

Walk down to the Dock. Built in 1866 as the city’s original port, this spot is perfect for watching the yachts and the northern city skyline as the golden light hits the water. The walk from the café is short, and the view is the main event.

Stay at the Dock for sunset. The sun sets toward the WSW, casting a warm glow over the harbor. It is a peaceful moment to soak in the atmosphere before the city wakes up for the night.
20:51
Head to Charco for dinner. This stylish restaurant on the river offers delicious food on a heated patio with beautiful views. Reservations are recommended, so try to secure a table in advance. The indoor seating is also available if the evening gets cool.
22:06
End the night at Parrillada El Portón. Known for some of the best barbecue in Colonia, this family-run spot has a warm atmosphere and generous portions. It is a great place to finish the evening with a hearty meal and a drink.
Local tip
The bullfighting ring is fenced off and in disrepair, so do not attempt to enter. The Dock is the best place for views and sunset. Charco is open until 23:00, and Parrillada El Portón has no listed closing time, but it is wise to check ahead for weekend crowds.
