Enter Portugal dos Pequenitos as it opens at 10:00. The park is best enjoyed in the quiet morning light before the midday rush. Walk through the child-sized recreations of Portuguese monuments and the museum of historical clothing.

Walk 10 minutes from the park to Itália. This Italian restaurant is located in the city park over the river, very close to the Santa Clara bridge. Enjoy a meal at one of the outside tables if the weather permits.

Botanical Garden of the University of Coimbra
Head to the Botanical Garden of the University of Coimbra. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site with unique architecture and culture. Spend the golden hour walking through the gardens as the sun begins to set.
Local tip
Portugal dos Pequenitos is open from 10:00 in winter. Itália is open Tuesday to Sunday from 11:30. If you arrive at the park at 10:00, you will have time to explore before lunch at Itália.
