Walk up to the Fonte de Celas. This historic baroque fountain is the perfect vantage point. Arrive just before the sun dips below the horizon to get settled.

Watch the sunset. On April 15, the sun sets toward the WNW, casting a warm glow over the fountain and the surrounding landscape. The golden light starts around 19:35, giving you a soft, flattering light for the final moments of daylight.

Stroll down to Portugal dos Pequenitos. The theme park’s miniature monuments look striking in the fading light. It is a short walk from the fountain, allowing you to keep the momentum going as the sky darkens.
Local tip
Tropical is open from 09:00 to 02:00, so you have plenty of time to grab your snack before the sunset. The walk from Fonte de Celas to Portugal dos Pequenitos is about 37 minutes, but you can take it slow as the light changes.
