Grab an ice cream at Dumbo. As Bolivia’s favorite family restaurant, it is always packed with energy and dancers in animal suits, but the four dining floors mean you can find a spot quickly. It opens early, so you can start here right away.
10:25
Walk to Plaza Colon. This is Cochabamba’s other popular square, next to city hall. It is a little greener than Plaza de Armas, 14 de Septiembre, offering a calmer space to rest your feet and enjoy the atmosphere.
10:45
Head to Gopal for a buffet lunch. It features a beautiful open courtyard to sit in. The hot and cold buffet lunch is affordable, and the homemade jugs of juice are delicious. Ordering off the menu is possible in the evening, but the lunch buffet is the highlight.
11:15
Finish your stroll at Plaza Constitución. This square is an homage to the 1931 Constitution, which included University Autonomy. It is a short walk from the lunch spot and provides a quiet end to your morning.
Local tip
Dumbo is busiest in the late afternoon, so coming for ice cream early is the best way to avoid the longest queues.
