Timeline

  1. 16:09

    Itsanitaq Museum

Start at the Itsanitaq Museum. With the sun still up, you have plenty of time to explore the detailed Inuit archaeological finds and sculptures. The museum is small, but the exhibits are rich, and you will want well over an hour to take it all in before the light fades.

  2. 17:39

    Tundra Inn Pub & Lounge

Walk six minutes to the Tundra Inn Pub & Lounge. Since it is October, the dinner menu is open daily from 6AM. Order the excellent dinner with some local oddities. The atmosphere is hearty and welcoming, a perfect way to transition from the cold outside to a warm interior.

  3. 18:54

    Liquor Mart

After dinner, walk three minutes to the Liquor Mart. The sun has set, and the evening is dark. Pick up a bottle of wine or beer to take back to your accommodation or enjoy at a quiet spot. The selection is pretty good, and it is the easiest place to get a drink if you are not staying at the Seaport Hotel.

Local tip

Check opening hours carefully. In October, the Liquor Mart is open Mon-Sat 11AM-6PM and Sun noon-6PM. If your sunset is late, ensure you arrive at the Liquor Mart before it closes, or skip it and rely on the Tundra Inn for drinks.
