Start the loop trail from Doi Pui Campsite. The 2.4 km path is uphill through the forest, so you will feel the cooler mountain air as you leave the city behind. Bring insect repellent.

Reach the View Point (680 m beyond the peak). This is your spot for the golden hour. The forest canopy frames the western sky as the light turns warm and long.

Begin the descent back toward the campsite as the sun sets. The trail is quiet and the temperature drops further. Check the route for your return transport if you rented a motorbike or took a songthaew to Bhubing Palace.
Local tip
The trail is fully in the forest and above 1,500 m, making it significantly cooler than Chiang Mai city. Wear layers for the evening chill.
