Timeline

  1. 10:00

    Classics Museum

Arrive at the Classics Museum right as it opens for the day. Spend the first hour wandering the A.D. Hope building to see the ancient Greek and Roman artefacts and the anthropological displays on Indigenous Australian and Pacific island cultures. It is quietest in the morning before the midday rush.

  2. 11:30

    Pollen Cafe

Walk 19 minutes west to the Australian National Botanic Gardens. Grab a simple snack or coffee at Pollen Cafe, which is nestled among the trees and open daily. The surrounding rainforest-like setting provides a peaceful break from the museum's interior.

  3. 12:00

    Rebel Rebel

Head back toward the city centre and walk 11 minutes to Rebel Rebel. This is the ideal spot for a late lunch. The venue features a gorgeous 50-seat room with angular beams of recycled timber. Order from the modern Australian dining menu and enjoy a glass of wine from their selection starting at $13.
