Grab a coffee and cake at Centrál Kávéház. It is a famous high-end coffeehouse founded in 1999. The atmosphere is classic and perfect for settling in before the walk.

Walk up to the summit of Gellért Hill. It is partly protected parkland. Arrive here just in time to watch the golden light begin to bathe the city. The view over the Danube and the Parliament is the main event.

Head down to Aranyszarvas Restaurant. This traditional spot serves local cuisine in the former Deer House. It is a warm place to refuel after the climb and the chill of the hilltop.
Local tip
The walk up Gellért Hill can be steep. Wear comfortable shoes. The golden light lasts only a short window, so time your arrival at the summit carefully.
