Timeline

  1. 12:10

    Torley Mausoleum

Walk the grounds of the Torley Mausoleum. The Art Nouveau structure by Ray Rezső and the carved ornaments by József Damkó are best appreciated in the quiet early afternoon light before the crowds arrive.

  2. 12:50

    Izé Cafe

Stop at Izé Cafe for a coffee or a light snack. It is a short walk from the mausoleum and open until 18:00, making it the perfect pause point.

  3. 13:40

    Kopaszi dam

Head to Kopaszi dam. This park on the Lágymányosi bay is a popular resting place with small restaurants and a playhouse. The walk from the cafe is a gentle 65 minutes if you take the scenic route, or you can check the route for a faster connection.

  4. 14:10

    Café Ponyvaregény

End your walk with a meal at Café Ponyvaregény. This Hungarian restaurant is just a minute's walk from the dam and serves lunch until 22:00 on Sundays.

Local tip

The Torley Mausoleum is connected with the Cemetery of Budafok. If you are arriving by public transport, take bus 251, 251A, or 251E from Kelenföld vasútállomás to Plébánia utca. The walk between the mausoleum and the dam is long, so pace yourself or use local transport to bridge the gap.
