Timeline

  1. 15:13

    Peggy's

Grab a coffee and a pastry to take with you. Peggy's is right by the theatre, so it is easy to pick up before heading up the hill.

  2. 15:33

Brandon Hill & The Cabot Tower

Walk up to Brandon Hill and climb the Cabot Tower. The 20-minute hike from the anchor puts you in position just before the golden light begins. Find a spot on the tower stairs or the hilltop to watch the sky change color.

  3. 17:30

    Nova Scotia

Head back down to Spike Island. The Nova Scotia is a historic pub adjacent to the Cumberland Basin. It is the perfect place to settle in after dark and enjoy a pint while the harbor lights come on.

Local tip

The Cabot Tower has a narrow spiral staircase. If you are not comfortable with confined spaces, enjoy the view from the hilltop instead. The walk down from Brandon Hill to Spike Island is straightforward but steep in parts.

Check before you go
