Timeline

  1. 15:00

    The Apple

Start with a pint at The Apple. This floating cider bar on the harbour is the perfect pre-sunset stop. You can sit on the deck and watch the water while enjoying West Country ciders.

  2. 16:00

Brandon Hill & The Cabot Tower

Walk up to Brandon Hill and The Cabot Tower. The climb is worth it for the elevated views over Bristol. If the weather is clear, the tower offers the best vantage point for the sunset.

  3. 16:30

Brandon Hill & The Cabot Tower

Watch the sunset. The sun sets toward the WNW in April, casting a warm glow over the city. Find a spot on the hill or in the tower that frames the western horizon.

  4. 17:00

    The Gallimaufry

End the evening with a drink at The Gallimaufry. This pub stays open late and is a short walk from the hill, making it a convenient spot to unwind after the climb.

Local tip

The walk from the harbour to the hill is steep. Wear comfortable shoes and take your time. The Cabot Tower has a narrow spiral staircase, so it might be busy during peak sunset times.
