Timeline

  1. 10:00

    Bristol Blue Glass

Visit the Bristol Blue Glass workshop. Arrive right when it opens to see the furnaces and learn how cobalt oxide gives the glass its deep blue colour. Ask about a tour along the furnaces if you want to see the process up close.

  2. 10:45

    Curry House

Walk two minutes to Curry House for a quick bite. It is open from 18:00 on Sundays to Thursdays, so check if your visit falls within those hours. If it is earlier in the day or on a weekend, head to Lodekka instead, which is open all day and serves generous grilled meals.

  3. 11:30

    We The Curious

Take a 43-minute walk northwest to We The Curious. This science-themed museum is interactive and designed to make engineering and life sciences accessible. It is a good place to stretch your legs and explore some labs or the makerspace.

  4. 12:30

    Swoon Gelato

End your afternoon at Swoon Gelato, just a four-minute walk away. Grab two scoops in a cone or sit in the fairly posh interior to enjoy what is regarded as the best ice cream in the city.

Local tip

The walk to We The Curious is a bit of a trek (43 minutes). If you prefer a shorter route, consider taking the bus X39 direction Bath and getting off at the appropriate stop, though you will need to check the specific route and timing.
