Timeline
15:15
Start with a casual Italian dinner at Taste of Napoli. It is close to the viewing spot and opens early enough to have a relaxed meal before the sun goes down. The staff are welcoming and there is plenty of choice for vegetarians and vegans.
15:45
Walk to St. Nicholas Market for a coffee or a sweet treat. The glass arcade is a great place to grab something cheap and delicious. Note that the market closes at 17:00, so you need to be here before the sun sets at 16:30.
16:10
Brandon Hill & The Cabot Tower
Head up Brandon Hill and The Cabot Tower. This hilly park offers attractive views over Bristol. The climb up the narrow spiral staircase in the tower rewards you with even better views just as the golden light begins to fade.
16:45
End the evening at The Apple. This floating cider bar is a converted Dutch Barge where you can sit on the decks and lull with the water. It is a unique spot to enjoy West Country ciders after the chill of the hilltop.
Local tip
The climb up Cabot Tower is steep. Wear comfortable shoes and allow extra time if you are not used to hills. The market is closed on Sundays, so adjust your food stop if visiting on a Sunday.
