Walk 15 minutes to City Botanic Gardens. Wander the walking and cycling tracks. This is a great time to explore the exhibits or take a free tour to learn about the history of the gardens and the city before it gets crowded.
14:30
Head to Ahmet’s Turkish Restaurant in the South Bank precinct. It is one of the most popular spots here, so expect a wait due to the painstaking quality of the kitchen. Order a meal and enjoy the lively atmosphere.
15:30
Finish back at City Botanic Gardens. Find a shady spot near the rose gardens or along the tracks to digest your meal and enjoy the late afternoon light before heading out.
Local tip
Brew is open from 07:00 on weekdays and 08:00 on weekends, so arriving at 14:00 works well. Ahmet’s is busiest on weekends, so if you are visiting Friday or Saturday, be prepared for a longer wait. The Botanic Gardens are free and open all day, making them a perfect flexible stop.
