Timeline

  1. 09:30

    Queensland Museum

Arrive at the Queensland Museum right when it opens. The building is large and features several exhibitions focusing on natural history and Queensland history. It is free to enter, though some special exhibitions cost extra. Starting early helps you avoid the midday crowds and beat the Queensland heat.

  2. 10:15

    Brew

Walk 13 minutes to Brew. This creative and relaxed café is located off the Albert St Mall. It is a great spot for great coffee and boutique beer or cider in an intimate setting. Since it opens at 07:00 on weekdays, it is perfectly open and ready for a relaxed lunch or snack.

  3. 11:00

    South Bank Parklands

Head 8 minutes southeast to South Bank Parklands. This parkland sits on the transformed site of Brisbane's World Expo 88. It offers plenty of space to stretch your legs and enjoy the riverside atmosphere just across the water from the city.

Local tip

The museum is free, but check if any special exhibitions interest you as they may have a cover charge. Brew is a popular spot, so if you want a seat, arrive a bit earlier than your planned stop.
