Timeline

  1. 12:47

    Roma Street Parklands

Arrive at Roma Street Parklands early. Wander the topiary maze and rain forest walk while the city is still waking up. The 1,800 unique plant species look best in the soft morning light before the crowds arrive.

  2. 14:47

    Brew

Walk 15 minutes to Brew for coffee and a light breakfast. The creative café on Albert St Mall opens at 07:00 on weekdays, giving you time to enjoy boutique beer and cider options later if you wish, but start with their great coffee and relaxed atmosphere.

  3. 16:47

    Roma Street Parklands

Return to Roma Street Parklands for a mid-morning stroll. The celebration lawn and amphitheatre are perfect for resting your legs and admiring the public artworks scattered throughout the grounds.

  4. 18:14

    Kangaroo Point

Head to Kangaroo Point 26 minutes before sunset. The walls along the Brisbane River are well-lit and offer an excellent view of the CBD skyline just across the water. It is a popular spot for rock climbing, but you can simply enjoy the panoramic vista as the sun dips toward the WSW.

Local tip

Check the route to get from the park to the riverfront. The walk is short but involves crossing pedestrian bridges.
