Timeline
09:00
Head straight to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary as it opens at 9AM. Getting there early ensures you beat the school groups and the midday heat, giving you the best chance to see the koalas active and relaxed before they settle down for the day.
10:30
Spend the bulk of your time exploring the sanctuary. With over 130 koalas and kangaroos to hand-feed, you can move at your own pace. The admission fee covers access to all wildlife encounters, so take your time with the cuddle sessions and feeding times.
11:30
Wrap up your visit by grabbing a coffee or a light snack from the on-site facilities before heading home. The sanctuary is located off the Western Freeway, so allow extra time if you are driving back to the city or South Bank.
Local tip
If you prefer not to drive, you can catch the hourly 445 or 430 buses from the city or the Mirimar boat cruise from South Bank at 10:20AM.
