Timeline
18:12
Stop at Le Globe for a coffee or a local wine. This sports bar is frequented by locals and offers a relaxed start to the evening before the crowds arrive.
18:42
Walk 14 minutes WNW to the Plagette. This is the larger of the two local beaches, with less seaweed and clear views over the oyster beds toward Mèze. Find a spot on the sand or the volleyball net area to settle in.
19:02
Watch the sun set toward the W. The light will fade quickly, but the view across the Étang de Thau is at its calmest and most atmospheric.
19:27
Head back toward the center (6 minutes walk) to Chez la Tchepe. It is still open until 21:00 in winter. Order a mixed platter of étang-grown oysters to dine in or take away, a perfect way to end the evening with local produce.
Local tip
Check the route back from Plagette if you are unfamiliar with the area after dark. Chez la Tchepe is open Tue–Sun 09:00–19:00 in October, so you have plenty of time for dinner after sunset.
Check before you go
- Chez la Tchepe closes at 19:00 in October (winter hours). Ensure you arrive there by 19:00 or later if you visit in May–Sept when it stays open until 21:00.
- The Plagette is a public beach; tide conditions can affect access to the sand, so check local conditions if the water is high.
