Grab a coffee and a popover at Ula Cafe. It is right inside the Sam Adams Brewery Complex, so you can fuel up before the tour. The cafe is open early and offers free wifi if you want to check your plans.
10:20
Join the Sam Adams Brewery tour. Since there are no reservations and tours depart every 40 minutes, arriving at opening time gives you the best chance to get in before the mid-morning crowds. The tour is all ages, though the tasting portion is 21+. You will get a sense of the brewing process and can browse the shop for exclusive merchandise.
11:30
Head to El Oriental De Cuba for lunch. This delightful little Cuban restaurant is just a short walk away. The walls are lined with framed pictures of Havana, and the food is authentically prepared. It is a great spot to sit down and enjoy a meal in a lively atmosphere.
12:00
End your outing with a scoop of ice cream at JP Licks. This flagship location serves homemade ice cream and coffee roasted in-house. It is a perfect way to cool down after your meal and explore the local flavor of Jamaica Plain.
Local tip
The brewery tour is first come, first served. Arriving right when it opens at 10:00 AM on weekdays or Saturdays is your best bet to avoid a wait. On Sundays, the brewery opens at 10:00 as well, but the cafe closes earlier at 16:00.
