Start with a drink at Warren Tavern. As the oldest tavern in Massachusetts, it is a fitting historical warm-up. The interior is cozy, and the wine selection is extensive.
17:29
Walk up to the Bunker Hill Monument. The climb to the top is free and offers a clear view of the city. Use this time to orient yourself toward the west as the light begins to shift.
18:02
Watch the sunset. The sun sets toward the W, providing a direct view from the monument. The golden light from 17:23 will have just passed, leaving a clear sky for the final descent.
Local tip
If you visit between April and June, remember that a pass is required to climb the monument and must be obtained from the nearby Bunker Hill Museum on a first-come basis. For other times, you can climb directly.
