Grab a pint or a bite to eat at the Dutton Arms. It is a pleasant seafront pub that serves decent grub and is dog-friendly. Make sure to go early enough to enjoy a drink before the crowds gather.

Walk 16 minutes northwest to Central Pier. This pier opened in 1868 to target the mass-market day-trippers and has always been packed with amusements. It is the closest pier to the stadium and offers a lively atmosphere as you approach the water.
16:21
Stand at the end of Central Pier and watch the sun sink toward the southwest. The sky will reflect off the water as the day ends. This is the perfect spot to catch the final moments of daylight.

Walk 11 minutes back toward the land to the Sun Inn. This independent pub serves real ales and has big screen sport TV. It is a welcoming place to settle in after the walk and enjoy the evening.
Local tip
The Dutton Arms is open until 23:00 on weekdays and 24:00 on Saturdays, so you have plenty of time. Check the route back to the Sun Inn from Central Pier as it is a short walk across the seafront.
