Moseley Bog & Joy's Wood Nature Reserve

Walk the wooden platforms through the ancient woodland. The low winter light filters through the trees, giving the area a mystical atmosphere that inspired Tolkien.

  2. 16:08

    Cascading Mountain (Wake Green Interchange)

Head to the Wake Green Interchange to see the Cascading Mountain sculpture. It represents the river that powered the nearby Sarehole Mill and connects your nature walk to the industrial history of the area.

  3. 16:23

Moseley Bog & Joy's Wood Nature Reserve

Return to Moseley Bog for the sunset. The sun sets toward the SW, casting long shadows across the bog and highlighting the textures of the woodland.

  4. 16:38

    Lahore Cottage

Walk to Lahore Cottage for dinner. This Indian restaurant is open late (until 21:00), making it a perfect spot to warm up after the evening chill.

Local tip

The walk from the nature reserve to the sculpture is short, but the area can get dark quickly in winter. Keep your phone handy for light if you prefer not to use a torch.
