Stand on the Zubizuri pedestrian bridge. The white steel structure looks stark and beautiful against the pre-dawn sky. Watch your step, as the metal can be slippery in the morning damp.

Stay on the bridge or walk just down to the riverwalk to watch the sun crest the horizon to the WSW. The golden light begins to hit the water and the Guggenheim Museum in the distance.

Walk 5 minutes to Kafe Antzokia. This former theatre turned venue is a great spot to grab a coffee or a light breakfast. The atmosphere is steeped in Basque culture and the architecture is striking.

Head back to the Zubizuri area for a final look at the bridge in full daylight. The contrast between the white steel and the blue sky is much clearer now. It is a perfect photo opportunity before you continue your day.

The bridge is slippery when wet. Wear shoes with good grip.
