Timeline

  1. 14:00

    Puppy

Start at the Puppy, the giant 12-meter flower-covered West Highland terrier standing directly in front of the Guggenheim. It is one of the most famous symbols of modern Bilbao and a great place to orient yourself in the bright afternoon light.

  2. 14:25

    GildaToki

Walk 5 minutes to GildaToki. This is the perfect spot for a pintxo snack. The bar specializes in Gildas (a famous Basque pintxo of anchovy, pepper, and olive) and offers a wide variety of txakoli and beer. It is open until 23:00, so it will be lively but manageable in the afternoon.

  3. 14:50

    Cafe Nervión

Head 13 minutes away to Cafe Nervión. This café offers wonderful views of the river. It is a calm place to sit, enjoy a coffee or a drink, and watch the Nervión flow by. The café is open until midnight on weekdays and Saturdays, ensuring a relaxed atmosphere.

Local tip

The Puppy is an outdoor sculpture, so you can view it at any time. GildaToki and Cafe Nervión are both open late, giving you flexibility, but arriving at 14:00 ensures you catch the best light for photos and a quiet table at the café.
