Next to the club, the huge Arena Berlin compound also includes a larger multipurpose hall of 6,500 m² which hosts events such as concerts, fashion shows and conventions, a glass house for further events and a bar.

   Alba Berlin, known as The Albatross are consistently among the best basketball teams in Germany, and one of the best in Europe. Their erstwhile dominance of the German league has been challenged by the upstart Bayern Munich basketball division flush with cash from the soccer division of the same club. Expect a fierce atmosphere and a packed hall for games against Munich or their traditional rival Bamberg. With fans crazier than most in the NBA, Albatross games at the o2 World arena are an exciting way to take in one of the world's greatest sports.

   Techno club in an old cogeneration plant near the Ostbahnhof. It has a huge dancefloor and room for more than 1500 people. Panorama Bar upstairs is open late until Sunday afternoon. Gay friendly, with hidden darkrooms and leatherboys. Be prepared for tough door policy on popular nights. Not for teenagers, no cameras allowed (mobile phones with a camera are allowed, but holders are expressly warned not to use them).

   The Bierpinsel ("beer brush") is a building in Steglitz which resembles an observation tower and is famous for its pop-art appearance. The futuristic, landmarked building was built from 1972 to 1976 and has since been used as restaurant, night club, bar, radio station and art café.

The KulturBrauerei also has several cinemas showing alternative movies, the Kesselhaus concert house, and one of the best shops for instruments in Berlin, the "Sound and Drumland".
