Timeline

Arrive at the base of the Bierpinsel. This 1970s concrete tower looks like a giant beer brush. Stand back slightly to frame the structure against the early sky. The light is soft and the area is quiet.
06:20
Walk ten minutes to Café Melanie. It is one of the oldest spots in Steglitz. Order a coffee or a long drink to warm up. The café opens at 09:00, so you will have just enough time to grab a seat as the morning light settles in.
06:50
Stroll six minutes to Forum Steglitz. Wander through the indoor mall to stretch your legs. The ice cream shop on one of the upper floors is a good place to take a break if you want something sweet.
Local tip
The Bierpinsel is a protected landmark. The best views are from the street level looking up or from the slight incline near the entrance.
Check before you go
