Timeline
14:00
Browse the English-language section at Kulturkaufhaus Dussmann. It is one of Berlin’s largest book and music shops, and a perfect, quiet place to start your afternoon while the light is still bright.
14:30
Walk to the Mall Of Berlin. This large shopping complex offers a break from the cold if needed, or just a place to people-watch from the outside if you prefer to keep moving.
14:50
Head to Ishin Japanese Deli for a light lunch. The atmosphere is busy and authentic, favored by local office workers and diplomats. Note that they are closed on Sundays.
15:20
End your stroll at the Deutscher Dom (Neue Kirche). Visit the free exhibition on the development of German parliamentary democracy. The building is a striking example of 18th-century architecture on the magnificent Gendarmenmarkt square.
Local tip
The Deutscher Dom does not host religious services, so you can visit freely during opening hours. Ishin Japanese Deli is closed on Sundays, so plan accordingly if your stroll falls on the weekend.
