Timeline

  1. 14:52

    Bien bar

Grab a draft beer at Bien bar. This neighborhood pub is housed in a former pharmacy, so look for the original wooden drawers with labels for bandages and hemorrhoidal cream lining the walls. The art deco interior is protected by the local cultural heritage authority.

  2. 15:22

    Fantoft Stave Church

Walk to Fantoft Stave Church. This reconstruction of a church built in Fortun around 1150 was destroyed by arson in 1992 but perfectly copied since. The inside is austere with no wall paintings. It is located about 6 km from the city centre, accessible by bus line 2 or the light rail (Bybanen) to the Fantoft stop.

  3. 16:07

    Dongen

Stand at Dongen to watch the sunset. The sun sets toward the SW at 16:07. This spot was once a storage area for BMV and a playful place for children growing up in the Solheimviken area. It serves as a portal into childhood memories.

Local tip

Bien bar closes its kitchen at 22:00, but drinks are served until 01:30 on weekdays and 02:30 on weekends. The church is open during the day, but the sunset view is the main event.
