Walk seven minutes south to Botanic Gardens. This leafy space is popular with students and locals. Find a spot near the Palm House to watch the sky change colour. The sun sets toward the SW, offering a clear view of the horizon.

Walk back north to Darcy's. It is a six-minute walk from the gardens. Order large servings of Belfast cuisine in an old-fashioned candlelit ambiance. They also have an excellent vegan and vegetarian menu.

End the night with a drink at Hatfield House. Walk twelve minutes east to this buzzing southside pub in an 1850s traditional building. It is often lively with music or Gaelic sport on TV.

The Botanic Inn and Hatfield House are both open until late, but Darcy's closes at 21:00 on weeknights. Check the route if you need to adjust your dinner timing.
