Start at The Botanic Inn. It is a popular student bar with live sport downstairs and a nightclub upstairs. Order a drink and settle in for an hour before the light changes.

Walk nine minutes NNW from the anchor to Botanic Gardens. This extensive leafy green space was established in 1828 and is popular with office workers and students from nearby QUB. Find a spot with a view toward the SW to catch the sunset.

The sun sets toward the SW at 16:29. Stay in the gardens to watch the light fade over the Palm House, completed in 1840.

Walk back to the Lyric Theatre. The venue has a main theatre seating 400 and the Naughton Studio seating around 150. It is a calm place to end the evening after the walk.
