Grab a beer or cocktail at Taling Bar. The view of the Chao Phraya River is clear, and you can watch the sky change color. It is a simple, chill-out spot.
17:44
Walk to Wat Rakhang. The temple is open until 18:00, so you have time to stroll through the grounds and see the huge bell that gives the temple its name. The atmosphere is peaceful as the day winds down.
18:09
Move to Nagaraphirom Park just by the river. This is the spot to watch the sun set toward the WSW. The cool river breeze makes it a nice place to rest and take in the view of the modern Rama VIII bridge.

Head to ZOOM4ZOOM5 for dinner. As it gets dark, Bangkok's highlights along the river, including Wat Arun and the Grand Palace, are beautifully lit. The prices are very cheap, and the view is excellent.
Local tip
The park (Nagaraphirom) is small but offers a direct view of the sunset direction. If you prefer a longer walk, you can explore the area near the temple first, but keep in mind the temple closes at 18:00, so time your visit to finish before then.
Check before you go
- Wat Rakhang closes at 18:00. Arrive early enough to explore the temple before it shuts.
- Taling Bar opens at 16:00, so it is open before sunset.
- ZOOM4ZOOM5 is open until 23:00, perfect for an evening meal.
