    Silpa Bhirasri National Museum

Find a quiet corner in the Silpa Bhirasri National Museum grounds to watch the sky change. The museum is dedicated to Thailand's father of modern art, and the grounds offer a peaceful vantage point away from the main crowds.

  2. 18:44

    Peanocchio

Walk nine minutes to the ferry building. Head to Peanocchio on the second level. This spot has a large patio overlooking the river, making it the perfect place to catch the final moments of golden light and the sunset itself.

  3. 19:04

    Peanocchio

Stay seated for dinner. Peanocchio serves reasonably priced fusion food with vegan options and craft beer. The view of the river and the approaching night makes for a relaxed start to the evening.

  4. 19:49

    Taling Bar

Take an eight-minute walk to Taling Bar. This simple chill-out spot has been rebuilt with a larger surface area. At night, the Grand Palace is beautifully lit across the water, providing a stunning backdrop for a final drink.

Local tip

Check the sunset time for your specific date. The golden light starts around 18:19 on July 15, so arriving at the museum thirty minutes before sunset gives you time to settle in before the main event at the restaurant.

Check before you go

  • Peanocchio is open until 22:00.
  • Taling Bar is open until 24:00.
  • The Silpa Bhirasri National Museum is open Wed-Sun 08:30-16:00, so you cannot enter after 16:00. If you are visiting outside these hours, you can still use the exterior grounds for the viewing spot, but cannot go inside.
