Timeline

  1. 17:01

    Mont Nomsod

Grab a toasted snack with peanut butter or chocolate at this large bakery. It is open late and perfect for a quick, sweet start to the evening.

  2. 17:31

Wat Saket and the Golden Mount

Walk up Wat Saket and the Golden Mount. The climb is steep but the view over the old city is worth it. Arrive with enough time to find a spot on the roof terrace as the sky begins to turn.

  3. 18:31

Wat Saket and the Golden Mount

Watch the sun dip below the horizon toward the west. The light fades quickly, but the temple structure is beautifully illuminated against the twilight sky.

  4. 19:01

    Amorosa Bar and The Deck

Head down to Amorosa Bar and The Deck. This rooftop bar offers spectacular sunset views of Wat Arun. Note that there are only 20 seats and they are often full after 18:00, so arriving early is key to securing a spot.

Local tip

The walk from the temple to the bar is short, but traffic in this area can be busy. If you cannot get a seat at Amorosa, the nearby Thip Samai is open until 03:00 and serves excellent pad thai.
