Walk up to Surprise Corner viewpoint. It is on the lower slopes of Tunnel Mountain, just a short climb from the golf course area. You will see the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, the Bow River, and Sulphur Mountain bathed in the fading light.

Watch the sun set toward the WSW. The sky will shift colors over the mountains and the river below. Stay for the full moment as the light fades completely.

Head down to the Balkan Restaurant. It is a Greek spot that has been serving authentic flavors since 1982. The grill is fired up and the kitchen is ready for dinner. It is an easy walk from the viewpoint area into the townsite.

Finish the evening at Pump and Tap Tavern. This British pub is open late and is a good place to watch a footie or cricket match if one is on. It is close by in town, keeping the night relaxed.
