Start with a strong coffee at Baba Budan's Coffee & Sweets. It is only a four-minute walk from the monument and opens at 09:00, which fits perfectly after the 06:03 sunrise and well before the 18:42 golden light window.

Walk to the Nikola Tesla monument. This bronze sculpture stands at the crossing of Azadlig Avenue and Suleiman Rahimov Street. You will have the plaza to yourself as the city wakes up.

Head to Philharmonic Fountain Park. The park is a 37-minute walk from the monument, but since we started our sequence earlier, you can arrive just in time for the golden light to hit the WNW horizon. The fountains and kiosks provide a quiet spot to watch the light shift.
Local tip
The walk between the monument and the park is long. If you prefer a shorter route, check the local bus or taxi options to get from Azadlig Avenue to the boulevard area closer to the park entrance.
