Arrive at Ashikaga Flower Park as it opens. Mid-April is the peak season for the famous wisteria arbors, so the light will be bright and the colors vivid. The park is large, so take your time to explore the plum blossoms and the early spring foliage.
10:30
Walk 7 minutes southwest to Saki-ma Shizen Kansatsu Kouen. This small nature observation park offers a quieter, green space to rest your legs and enjoy the local flora away from the main park entrance. It is a peaceful spot to sit and watch the birds.
10:50
Head 5 minutes west-southwest to the O-fuji Matsuri area. This is the heart of the wisteria festival grounds. Even if you have seen the main arbors, this area provides a different perspective on the flower displays and the festival atmosphere. It is a great place to buy a small souvenir or a drink if stalls are open.
Local tip
Opening hours change with the season. Check the official schedule before you go to ensure the park is open at your planned arrival time. The area around the park has few shops, so plan to eat or buy snacks within the park or at the festival grounds.
