Timeline
06:00
Arrive at Kwiambal National Park. Head straight for the picnic tables and barbecue facilities near the entrance. The early morning is the quietest time to secure a spot and enjoy the potable water facilities before the heat of the day.
07:00
Walk the Limestone Caves Walking Track. This is a short, accessible loop that lets you see the unique limestone formations without a long hike. It is best done while the air is still cool and the trails are empty.
08:00
Return to your picnic spot for lunch. Use the barbecue facilities if you brought food, or simply enjoy a packed meal at the tables. The park has no shops or cafes, so you must bring all your own food and water.
09:00
Finish with a short walk on the Dungeon Lookout track. This offers a gentle elevation change and a view over the surrounding bush. It is a pleasant way to end the visit before heading back to Ashford.
Local tip
There are no food or drink shops in Kwiambal National Park or immediately adjacent. You must bring all food, water, and picnic supplies with you from Ashford.
