Timeline

  1. 16:40

    Asheville Guitar Bar

Grab a drink at Asheville Guitar Bar. It is a two-minute walk from the landmark and opens at 17:00 on Thursdays through Saturdays, giving you just enough time to settle in before the sun goes down.

  2. 17:10

    Baby Bull

Walk four minutes to Baby Bull for a burger. It is open until 21:00 on weekdays and weekends, so you can eat while the sky is still bright enough to see the details of the neighborhood.

  3. 17:30

    The Ties That Bind Asheville

Head to The Ties That Bind Asheville. The fabric strips tied to the chain-link fence will catch the last light. The sun sets toward the WSW, which aligns with the view from the Battery Park Hotel area where this installation is located.

  4. 18:25

    Battery Park Hotel

End your evening at the Battery Park Hotel. This 14-story building faced with brick, limestone and terra cotta trim with a Mission Revival style roof, erected in 1924, offers a quiet place to reflect on the day after the sun has set.

Local tip

The sun sets toward the WSW on January 15th. Check the route if you need to walk between these spots.
