Timeline
16:10
Grab a pint of Green Man Ale. The pub is right downstairs from the vegetarian restaurant, so you can grab a drink and a light bite if you like.
16:55
Walk up to the Basilica of St. Lawrence. Find a spot near the front or side where you can see the facade clearly. The large elliptical dome catches the last direct sunlight before it dips below the horizon.
17:40
Watch the sun set toward the WSW. The golden light hits the stone and dome just before the sun disappears, casting long shadows across the grounds.
18:10
Head to Limones for dinner. It is an upscale Mexican-Californian spot with fresh cuisine. Since it is after sunset, you will want a reservation as recommended.
Local tip
The Basilica is on the National Register of Historic Places. The dome is the largest freestanding elliptical dome in North America.
