    Visit the Robert Louis Stevenson Museum in Vailima. The grounds are quiet in the late afternoon, and you can see the house where RLS spent his final years. Check the hours before you go: it closes at 16:00 on weekdays and 12:00 on Saturdays, so this visit works best if you are already in the area or if the plan is adjusted for a weekday morning. For an evening plan, skip the museum and head straight to the food step to ensure you are seated before it closes.

    The Curry House Restaurant

    Head to The Curry House Restaurant for an early dinner. It is one of the most authentic Indian restaurants in Apia and is open from 16:00 on Saturdays. This gives you time to eat before the golden light fades. Check the route to get there from your current location.

    Walk to Apia Park to catch the golden light. This major sporting venue offers an open view of the eastern part of Apia and the Pacific. The sun sets toward the WSW, so the western light will illuminate the landscape as you stand here. The park is a 55-minute walk from the museum, but if you are coming from The Curry House, check the route for a shorter path.

    End the evening at Apaula Heights Lounge. This bar affords views across the eastern part of Apia and the Pacific. The food is above average, and it is a great place to sit back after the sunset. Check the route from Apia Park to get there.

Local tip

The museum closes early, so if you are doing this on a weekday, skip the museum and start at The Curry House. If you are there on a Saturday, the museum closes at noon, so that also does not fit an evening plan. Focus on the food and the view.
