Arrive at the nursery entrance. The trees are just waking up in the soft morning light. Take a moment to read about Valhalla’s work with indigenous communities and the sustainable use of macadamia shells.
06:31
Watch the sunrise. The sun sets toward the WSW, but the morning light illuminates the nursery from the east, casting long shadows through the trees. This is the perfect quiet moment to appreciate the scale of the plantation before it gets busy.
07:01
Head back toward central Antigua. Check the route for transport or walking options as the farm is 9 km outside the center.
07:16
Find a local café in Antigua to open for breakfast. Since the sunrise is early (around 05:41 to 06:31 depending on the season), most cafes will be open by the time you return. Look for a spot that serves coffee and fresh pastries to cap off the early start.
Local tip
The farm is open Mo-Sa 08:00-16:30, but for a sunrise visit, you will likely be there before opening hours. Check if early access is arranged or if the perimeter view is accessible. If you are visiting in July, sunrise is as early as 05:41, so start your journey even earlier.
Check before you go
