Timeline

  1. 10:00

    Cermodern

Walk into Cermodern through the arched entrance of the old railway power plant. The high ceilings and industrial brickwork make for a calm start before the crowds arrive. Check the current exhibition while the space is quiet.

  2. 10:45

    Şehrize Mantı

Head to Şehrize Mantı for a warm, comforting snack. Their dumplings are a local favorite and the atmosphere is relaxed enough to digest your thoughts on the art you just saw. It is open early, making it perfect for a mid-morning break.

  3. 11:15

    Hitit Güneş Kursu Anıtı

Take a short walk southeast to Sıhhiye Square to see the Hittite Sun Disc Monument. This bronze memorial stands out against the urban backdrop and offers a moment of stillness away from the main shops.

  4. 11:45

    Youth Park

End your walk in Gençlik Parkı. It is a green escape just north of the museum area. Sit on a bench and watch the city life flow by in this established public park.

Local tip

Cermodern is closed on Mondays. The park areas are best enjoyed in the late morning when the sun is up but the heat is not yet intense.
